Vicksburg High School Marching Band Fall 2011!!! Tanner, Brooke, and Cody are in there!
Experimenting with different ways to keep my blog going. Today I'm gonna post random memories that have come to mind this week.

* Earlier, as I was laughing hysterically (and in great shock) at Tyler tasting a bite of dog food because he heard dog food has no taste (incidentally, he agreed that it does not have any taste), I remembered back to Pat always eating unusual stuff. When he and mom first got married we'd see him eat what WE considered to be yucky stuff, but was probably just normal stuff that kids don't like. But I made the statement once that Pat would eat ANYTHING. Sitting on the bar in front of us all was a bowl of milk that someone had just finished eating cereal in. And I had just opened a can of tuna and had not drained it yet. I said, "I bet I know something you WON'T eat....." and I drained the oil from the tuna can into the bowl of milk. Without missing a beat, he turned the bowl up to his lips and drank it all straight down and never flinched. I thought I would fall out in shock. hahaha!

* I don't know why, or even remember the circumstances when I had this memory. But I remembered my dad teaching me to ride a bike. Perhaps I was learning something new and subconsciously that memory came up?

* I remembered the 2 most disappointing moments in my life where I wanted to audition for something really bad and chickened out. Once in high school, auditioning for the school musical. I was far too shy and I chickened out and worked on the set and played in the pit band instead. Then in college, my first year, I was next in line to audition for jazz band and I chickened out. (I tried out the next year and made it.) Never forgave myself for either of those. I guess it came to mind because we've begun talking about musical auditions this week.

* Tanner's blankie. Because last night, he went to the hall closet to grab a blanket (even though most of them are already out and tossed around the house). The blanket pile had made it down to the bottom few, and there was his blankie. He came in here and said "I sure have missed this thing...." lol. Pictures below.....
Tanner around Summer 1999 or 2000?

* I remembered our dog "Boxer". We have a dog right now. He's a mutt that we found looking all pitiful on the downtown streets of Vicksburg outside the theatre after a Lil Abner rehearsal. We took him in and he's a great dog. As close to perfect as a dog can be. But someone this week mentioned that he looked like he might be part boxer. Which of course led me to remember "Boxer". Wish I had a picture of "Boxer". I probably do somewhere. I know I have a picture of "Dug".....below.

September

It's been Homecoming week at school. Which is always a very difficult week to teach high school. Kids are dressed up as various different things each day. On Tacky Day, Tanner wore a unicorn head, angel wings, and suspenders. He was cute but I never got a pic I don't think. TAnner, after much deliberation, has decided NOT to go to the homecoming dance. Not sure why, but whatever he wants.

Tyler is currently putting on one of his most awesome stage performances EVER. He is in a play called "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" with all Neil Sedaka music. It's wonderful. This coming weekend is the final weekend. Mom and Pat came to watch it last weekend and Mom got chosen as an audience volunteer (by Tyler of course). She had to go on stage and 2 guys asked her to think back to her 16th birthday and they sang a song to her called "Happy Birthday, Sweet 16" lol. I am sneaking some videos this weekend, one way or other. Because yall have GOT to see what Tyler is doing in this one.

All else is normal and usual. Just a short post, no way I can make up for all the lost time lol. But thinking about family tonight, hoping all are well! Til next time.....

starting back blogging

Dont' know how or why I stopped. Well, I guess I do. Got busy and crazy. Crazy busy. Anyway. whatever. I miss doing it.

No pics for now, just getting a post out there. Blake graduates tonight - congrats to Blake! Tanner and Brooke and Cody have finished Jr High and will be in high school next year. WOW. I had a HUGE year at school. Great year, but very challenging and very hectic and I hope I figure out how to handle it better by next year. But starting to think there's no hope but to get lost amongst it all.

Lots of local theatre work in the last year. Rusty and Tyler too. Rusty was in Rocky HOrror last October as "Riff Raff", then Tyler got to be in Rocky Horror with him in January playing "Eddie". Fun times! Tyler got to play "Link Larkin" in Hairspray. He's finished his first year of college too, with some real nice grades. Tanner will join us all in a production of "Li'l Abner" this summer - should be fun!

We finally recovered from the fallen tree. Then about a month ago we had another limb drop. NOthing major, but got us a little insurance money. Got the Corolla up and going again around December, Tyler and I are sharing it. Maybe some day I'll have a car again. Losing hope on that!

School is out within the week and boy are we all ready! I intend to get back blogging. Weekly, because its fun and I miss it. For now, I guess these are just some temporary minor highlights.
