Tuesday it was like Christmas around here I guess you could say.
First of all, I called the neurologist to tell him that his suggestion did not work. And he immediately said that we were going to put him on an antidepressant and he felt pretty sure that was going to work. I was like.......????? It was very different than he was a few weeks ago when he didn't want to hear of an antidepressant no matter what I said. I think he must have conferred with some colleagues and found out that it was a common treatment and was ok to try. I don't know. Either way, I'm thrilled. He sent us a prescription for Zoloft which is in the same family as the Prozac. I made Tyler stop taking what I was giving him and he was not happy about that. But the new prescription got here just about the time he couldn't stand it anymore and he has begun taking it. Takes a few days, but we're hoping to see similar or even better results.
Next, the keyboard I ordered with the tax money finally came in and OH MY is it INCREDIBLE. It's a total dream come true. We lucked up and got a really good deal on ebay, just in the nick of time. And I'm only aware of about 10% of what it can do. This is my grand piano. It has 88 keys - just as many as a real piano. And the keys are weighted, which means they feel and play just like a real piano with hammers and all. I can play and play and I never run out of keys at either end lol. It has a computer screen, a touch screen, and so much other stuff. It has around 14 banks of sounds from what I can tell, each containing 128 sounds. It will take me weeks just to get through all of them and listen to them. It was the biggest and best on the market in 2004, but was recently discontinued and they are making some other name keyboard. Which is the only reason it got into my affordable range. It's called a Korg Triton Extreme 88 and it weighs 80 POUNDS. It came in a box the size of a coffin and shipping cost the guy $253.00. It's not something that is ever going to be easily mobile lol. I'm looking forward to some day soon having the uninterrupted hours, days, weeks, to play with it and figure out stuff.

The new one is the one
on bottom. I moved the one that USED to be on bottom to the top. Now I have some major keys to play on!!!

Rusty got a new guitar amp also. Not unusual for him though, he's always selling and buying amps and guitars lol.
Tanner wanted to play baseball this year so this week was our first 2 practices. He skipped last year, so he is pretty rusty on the baseball skills. But he'll improve I'm sure. It's kid pitch baseball now. And the dang practices are solid 2 HOURS long. But I've actually enjoyed it because I am forced to sit down and not be running around like a chicken with my head cut off like I've been doing so much the last few weeks. I sit and I read magazines or books while he's not doing something to watch. It's been quite peaceful and therapeutic.
We had band rehearsal #2 this week and it went well. I think we're doing pretty good at getting in there and getting acclimated and accustomed to one another and getting a feel for what we're doing and all. It's going to be a really good situation. The only thing that could go wrong with this situation is if someone suddenly quits or says they don't have time for it. Other than that, it's looking like we have a playing situation that will work very well for all involved for as long as we all want it to.
Jack the Cat has been found napping or lazing around on Tanner's keyboard lately. One of the many things he is intrigued by.....along with the vaccuum cleaner and the dish washer. Tanner saw some comedian on TV imitating a terrorist so he just HAD to try it himself. I told him most people probably don't think that terrorists are funny. But it entertained him for about 5 minutes.

Tanner has been BEGGING for a paddleball for a couple of months now. He found one on amazon.com that he wanted me to order. The paddleball was $1.99 with about $8.00 shipping. So I told him NO WAY. And oddly enough we have not seen one at Wal Mart or anywhere. But when Easter was overwith Wal Mart put their big Easter baskets on sale for $5 and I saw one with a paddle ball in it. So I got the 2 baskets for him and Brooke when she comes next weekend. He talked me into letting him get just the paddleball out. It took him 1 minute to see that it was not as easy as he thought it was. About 5 minutes to realize it just wasn't as much fun as he had built it up in his mind to be. And about 10 minutes for the rubber ball to come off the rubber band.

Let's see. It's been a big funny around here lately, the wearing of pajamas in unusual places. I almost wore my pajamas to baseball practice tonight. Seriously. But I backed out at the last minute. I imagine sooner or later I'm gonna do it though, if they keep practicing til 9 pm like they did on Thursday. A couple of weeks ago Tanner went to Wal Mart with me and I noticed after we got there that he was wearing his Alabama pajamas lol. It didn't bother him a bit. And I decided, what the heck who cares. Then last week Rusty got called right about 10 pm from one of his cigarette route stops and the cigarette machine was broken. He had JUST got into his Dr. Pepper pajamas and sat down to chill. It was the strip club across the river that called lol. And he decided to heck with it, he was going in his pajamas. I almost went to Fred's with my pajama pants on yesterday because all I needed was toilet paper and I'd be RIGHT back out. But Cheryl was going with me and I decided I just couldn't embarass my friend like that!
We haven't done much work in the room on the week days. It's been a heck of a week, I don't know when we would have had the chance to actually. But last weekend Mike and Rusty got the shelves built and they look awesome. Seems like I may have posted them last time. We still have baseboards to do and some minor details. That new carpet is killing my vaccuum cleaner with all the fuzzies that are constantly rubbing up. Anyway. This weekend we spent all day Saturday cleaning out the little room that is set off from the new big room. It was a chore in itself. But we got that much done and hope to finish moving some computer and guitar stuff out there today. Check out the big "Wall of Fame"........
